Julie Sochalski

Faculty Director

I am so proud to call Hill College House, the best college house on campus, home. Indeed, there is no better portal to the world before you. I’m one of three faculty that will be sharing your home this year, and we look forward to getting to know all of you. Now a bit about me. I harken from the mid-west—Detroit, to be exact, and University of Michigan x3—though I’ve been an east- coaster for nearly as many years. I’m the Associate Dean for Academic Programs in the School of Nursing, where I get the opportunity to bring forth the next generation of nurses prepared and ready to lead the nation to better health. My signature is politics, policy, and public service, and my career has traversed the world of health policy, nationally and internationally, working in the halls of governmental policy- making, including a stint in the Obama Administration working on health care reform. Delivering on the promise of health care for all has been my mission as a nurse and public policy maven, and I explore these intersections in my health care policy work. Philadelphia is the birthplace of much of the political backbone of this country, and I look forward to exploring our great city and its rich history with you!
